''Super 8'' image
We tried to replicate the ''Super 8'' look through using the RGB Curves in Premier Pro and focusing on binging the red colour out of the pictures to create an older grainier feel. Here is what the ''super 8''' look that we tried to replicate in our video
To create this look we had to follow a video which told us to add dusct scratches and to change the colour of the picture by using both the tint effect and the RGB curve controls. We as a group decided that we should also add blur to make the movie feel older with it looking as if the camera id constantly trying to focus. Below is the video we used to create the ''super 8'' look.

Rock Image
Guitars
Rhythm Guitar
Epiphone Riviera - This is an older Guitar which brings a vintage feel to the video and gives a wider range and diversity to the band. The guitar also shows experience and gives further understanding to the band.
Lead Guitar
LA Guitar - This is a traditional electric Guitar and shows will be familiar with many and is considered basic and is relatable to their audience.
Drum Kit
The Drum Kit we used was a traditional drum set and is considered compulsory for the rock genre. Due to the nature of the song we had to use a drum kit to let it make sense.

We have made our narrative make more sense by adding a more concrete ending to the journey. We have re-visited Clapham Junction and filmed Sam in a suit to resemble the fact that he has grown up, also that this is in the present and the Brighton footage is in the past. This was criticism we received from our audience feedback, so we have added an ending that makes more sense of the journey the music video takes you on.

Mid-production Audience feedback 2
This time, we had all of our footage on our timeline and were able to get proper feedback from our classmates; unlike last time when we just had the band performance. Last time, our classmates complained about the lack of narrative. This time they believed that our narrative was really good and funny, but was also very clear and apparent. They also liked our camera work, and believed we had more variation as compared to last rough-cut viewing. Both groups also scored us highly in terms of whether it seemed like a music video or not. The scores have gone up since our last rough cut.
However we did receive some criticism from our classmates. They saw the rewind section of our music video to make little sense, as it didn't cut on the beat and neither did reflect the genre. The other group suggested that we should have more shots of the band as it was a bit repetitive having continuous shots of Sam. However, there was a debate to whether a colourisation worked. Some said that it made it boring, whilst the others believed that the it worked well with the genre.
Since we received this feedback, we have deleted the rewind section and have edited the footage that was not on the beat.

Record Lable
We first researched some existing record labels and took inspiration from EMI as we liked the red background and block capital letters in the centre. We also liked universal music group's record label as it had it's full record label name at the bottom in small text. This is why we thought it was better to have just the initials from 'Warehouse Records' in the centre and put the full name at the bottom in smaller text size and we felt black text with block capitals went best with a red and white background.
Intertextuality in our Music Video
A large part of our video focuses on the setting of Brighton and the history that the town holds. Through our music video, we wanted to recapture the energy of the town shown through films such as Quadrophenia, which focused on the lifestyle of the mods and rockers of the 1960s and specifically the brawl that occurred in Brighton between the two groups on the August bank holiday of 1964. We visited several locations where this film was shot and most notably, the famous alley way, which we have used in our music video. We chose to reference Quadrophenia as those who are familiar with the film will feel flattered when they understand the link and will therefore feel a greater connection to our film and the themes of Quadrophenia, such as freedom and rebelliousness will be brought back from the nostalgia of the viewer.

Editing
Today we have managed to achieve our target of getting up to 2 minutes 10 seconds on our timeline. We now only have about 40 seconds left of footage to add in, so we are on target for our rough-cut showcase this Thursday. We have experimented with different factors of music videos, by putting some of our footage in reverse and fast-forward. We will ask our classmates during the rough-cut showcase, whether it works or not. If not, we shall take it out.

Editing
We are aiming to try an got all of our footage onto the timeline I time for Thursday's rough cut. This way we will be able to optimise our feedback and put it to good use. Last time, our class could only assess about 40% of our footage. So we aim to get all the footage in order as too get as much out of our feedback as possible, to us towards our final product.
We have edited in some of our Brighton footage, and now have a good minute and a half we are happy with. We aim to edit between the 1:30 to 2 minute mark today. This will leave us with only a minute of footage to edit tomorrow and on Wednesday, so to meet our deadline.
